York Driving School is a local business, run by Graham Hood, and has been providing driving lessons in the York area for 5 years but teaching for 15 years.
Our aim is to give new drivers the skills they need to feel confident on the road and for them to feel they have the knowledge to deal with any situation.
Any new learner will be given the skills they need to use throughout there driving career for life, not just to pass a driving test. We offer a range of courses to suit all students needs ranging from intensive driving courses to beginner lessons to refresher courses for those students looking to get back behind the wheel again.

About The Car
The car York Driving School is using is a Citroen DS3. It has a 1.6 litre Diesel engine and is very responsive. It is important to have a car that is capable of quick acceleration as you will be driving on lots of faster roads including country roads and dual carriageways, as well as city centre driving.

Driving Courses In York
We offer an excellent ‘Beginners Package‘ of 5 hours tuition (actual driving) for £109. Most driving schools are full price from the first lesson. Intensive courses vary in price depending on how many hours would be required. A full price list is available on request and listed on the website.
Learners are now allowed to drive on motorways as long as they have had more than 20 hours tuition with a professional driving instructor, some students prefer to wait until they have more experience. That’s why a 3 hour motorway lesson or a 6 hour Pass Plus course would be a great idea to get you going.
Or if you’re feeling a bit low on confidence, or haven’t driven for some time, a ‘Refresher Course‘ would be the ideal thing for you.
